APARTMENT SEARCH [Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 @ 7:01am]

katxrated
[ mood | busy ]

Hello,
I am looking for a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment with a balcony or patio (must haves). It needs to be within 10 miles of 44106 (University Circle), it MUST have a fitness room, and my max is $650, although I would like to find something for less.

Anyone have suggestions?

I've called Crystal Towers, Highland Woods, Bishop Park, and Midtown Towers.

I will be a new transfer into the area, so I don't know what places to look at and which ones to avoid.. I also feel that there are more buildings that fit my needs and I'm just not finding them through Google.

I have no pets, no kids, just my husband and I - we are quiet and low maintenance.

I am a resident of Mayfield with no car, trying to go to the Chamber. How can I get there? I have already tried doing a route search at the RTA site, with no results...

Request for information [Thursday, April 30th, 2009 @ 1:33pm]

crushinator
Greetings from Columbus1

I am writing to find out if the Didy Wah Didy2 sign is still operational. If so is it still located on I480? What I really need is a video of it in action for a little product I'm working on. If anyone has such a video or can link me to one on line I'd be greatly appreciative. Otherwise I may drive up and make one myself. I could theoretically post it on you tube and post it back in this forum if anybody is interested.

Thanks for your time3.

1 Columbus Ohio. Your sister city. Well more like an annoying little sister that you never notice or care about. Why is she the stupid capital anyway.? I guess better her than freaking Cincinnati though, am I right?

2 On behalf of everyone in Columbus who has a soul I'd like to apologize for our myopic art-hating city council for running this exhibit out of the city. It was truly a thing of beauty. You'd be coming into town on I70, round a bend, and there it was accenting the distant skyline. They also killed a project to build a blue stained-glass relief sculpture of the great serpent mound over one of our downtown bridges. It's like our government hates anything remotely cool. A field of giant concrete corn, on the other hand...

3 If this is the wrong place for this request, point me to the right community and I'll post it there.

Looking for somewhere to spend the frigid nights?

Phoenix Coffee on West 9th (right off of St. Clair and next door to Constantino's Market) is having an Inaugural Party this Tuesday, the 20th! We will have a TV in the cafe beginning at 11 am to broadcast the swearing in ceremony, the inaugural speech and parade. Get presidentially groovy beginning at 6 pm. Dress to patriotically impress. Gaudy and sparkly ball attire encouraged but not necessary. Feel free to casually discuss what your hopes are for the Obama presidency and the role that you'd like to play in the next four years of change in your own life and/or the country and/or the world.

Every Thursday starting at 6:30pm, we also have open mic nights (we're looking for someone to host, also, so if you're interested, email phoenixcoffeew9@gmail.com)!

And beginning this Sunday around 2pm, Phoenix has gametime! Bring your favorite game, or drop by to play some of the classics we'll have available. Pull up a seat and meet someone new, or bring along some old friends. It'll be a good time had by all.

I hope we see you there!

(This is cross-posted, sorry if you see it twice).

W. 9th Phoenix Coffee is open! [Thursday, October 30th, 2008 @ 5:48pm]

[ mood | cheerful ]

Hey Cleveland!

Your local premiere coffee roaster has opened a new shop on W. 9th, right next door to Constantino's Market, and right near Browns stadium and the Flats. It's the perfect place to stop by before a crazy night in the Flats, or to caffeinate before a Browns game.

If you've been to Phoenix Coffee before, you probably already know we feature specialty single-source coffees, and delicious custom blends roasted right here in Cleveland. We have a wide variety of Fair Trade offerings!

All of our food is sourced from local people, so stop by and try a slice of our fantastic vegan cheesecake (no, really!), or a cup of Johnny Fav's delicious soup with an asiago pretzel from Zoss Bakery (They're AMAZING) Don't forget our tea wall, with a whole menu of white, green, black, oolong and herbals to choose from!

We also do something different from all the other Phoenix coffee shops. We french press all of our coffee, for that full-bodied, heavy, creamy coffee flavor. Melitta manual drip coffee is also offered, a completely different coffee experience that brings out the zingy acidity of the cup!

Our baristas are pro (check out the fancypants latte art), our shop is comfy and cozy, and we have free wifi!

We're open from 6-9:30 Monday through Thursday, 6-11 on Friday, 7-11 on Saturday, and 8-9:30 on Sunday. I hope we'll see you there! :)

Info request from a potential Cleveland inhabitant [Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 @ 9:48am]

[ mood | hopeful ]

I currently live in the Detroit Metro area.

I've been reviewing RealEstate ads, anticipating that my job interview will result in an offer from a Cleveland local employer.

I'm confused as to a particular phrase that seems to occur in Cleveland area RealEstate ads under utilities/appliances.

What is a "cable electric link"?  What does it do?  Is this considered a good feature for a house, or not?

Norfolk DJ Coming Back Home! [Saturday, December 22nd, 2007 @ 5:59pm]

iceburgan
[ mood | accomplished ]

Hi. My name is Bryon Burgan (aka Space Ghost), and am a Cleveland-born and raised guy who DJs down here in the Virginia-Beach Norfolk VA community. I am going to be home from the 26th of December to the 7th of January, and I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere that was interested in a guest DJ. I don't have my own equipment, because I'm part of a DJ Team and they need to keep the equipment while I'm gone, but if worse comes to worse, I'm pretty sure I could come to some accomodation. I can spin records, CDs, whatever. What do I play? Well that depends on the place. My specialty is Rock N' Roll (Everything from the Misfits, X-Ray Spex, Buzzcocks to Interpol, the Smiths, Arcade Fire, and Clap Your Hands and say Yeah!), but I also like to play Electro/Dancepunk (The Rapture, !!!, Hot Chip, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, The Black Keyes, Justice, Air, Boys Noize, Chemical Brothers). And lastly, I even play Hip-Hop, Indie style (Remix Artists like Diplo, Danger Mouse, Girl Talk, Mike Relm, 2 Many DJs, Bang Gang, Soulwax). Just give me an AIM (RockNerd1982) or email me (rocknerd1982@gmail.com) . Hell, if worse comes to worse, I'll do it for a bar tab. I'm not looking to make money, just show my hometime some DJ Love.

Anyone want ONE free ticket to the Suburban Legends/MC Lars/Patent Pending show tonight at the Agora Ballroom? I decided at the last minute not to go. I got my ticket via ticketFAST on ticketmaster, so all you have to do is give me your email address and I'll send you the .pdf file for you to print off.

I'm giving my ticket away instead of selling it because Patent Pending is one of my favorite bands and I really want people to be there, even though I can't go!

The first person to EMAIL ME (not comment to this entry) gets the ticket. clement [dot] 33 [at] osu [dot] edu.
